Creating and Viewing Logs

The GeoExpress log file is a description of recently completed encoding projects. It displays the encoding results for all of the jobs in the session including single file encodes, mosaics, updates and optimizations. The output log file is a simple text file that can be viewed with your favorite text editor/viewer.

You can generate a log file to document your encoding jobs by using the -log switch, followed by an output file name. For example:

-log mylogfile.txt 

This log will be created in the directory from which you run the command.

For example, the command

E:\Data>mrsidgeoencoder -i E:\Data\localTestImages\Images\MG4test_1.sid -o E:\Data\
localTestImages\Images\MG4test_2.sid -resample 2 -log testlog.txt

creates a log in E:\Data named "testtlog.txt".

If the log file already exists, new encode jobs are appended to it.

Following is a sample entry in the GeoExpress log file:
