Before installing GeoExpress, log on to your computer with administrator permissions. You do not need administrative privileges to run the software once it is installed and licensed.
NOTE: If you are upgrading from a previous version of GeoExpress, you must first uninstall the old version. For the Windows version of GeoExpress, this will happen automatically if you choose to install from the DVD Browser menu.
To install the Windows version of GeoExpress:
You don't need to log on as an administrator but you do need to be able to perform admin overrides.

to start the GeoExpress Installation Wizard.Serial numbers are specific to a version of GeoExpress, and determine the functionality available to you. For example, there are different serial numbers for GeoExpress Standard and GeoExpress Unlimited.
To install the Linux version of GeoExpress:
Run the installation shell script. For example, you might run the following command:
./install.sh
Enter the file path for the directory where you want to install the product, or press Enter to accept the following default location:
/usr/local/LizardTech/GeoExpress9.5/
Optionally, if you purchased GeoExpress Standard edition and need to use a data cartridge, follow the prompts to install the Express Cartridge Manager (ECM).
The installer finishes and displays the location of the environment variable setup script.
Navigate to the GeoExpress installation directory. If you installed to the default location, navigate to the following directory:
/usr/local/LizardTech/GeoExpress9.5/
Run the following command to export the GeoExpress environment variables to your current shell:
source GeoExpressEnvSetup.sh
NOTE: To add the environment variables to your shell permanently, copy the variables in the setup script to your shell initialization file. For example, if you use bash, copy the variables to your bashrc file.
